EEG

An Electroencephalogram (EEG) records the electrical activity of the brain by picking up the electrical signals from the brain cells. These signals are picked up by electrodes attached to the head and are recorded on a computer. The recording shows how the brain is working. For most people there is more chance of showing irregular brain activity when they are tired or when they are going to sleep. Having a sleep-deprived EEG might help to get a more useful reading. This test is done in the same way as a normal EEG but you sleep during the test.

Ultrasound

Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. The images can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions. Most ultrasound examinations are done using an ultrasound device outside your body, though some involve placing a device inside your body.

NICU

Your baby’s care team will tell you what tests and procedures are recommended and inform you of the results. These are some of the more common tests, treatments or procedures done in the NICU. Your baby may need additional specialized tests or treatments, depending on his/her medical condition. Newborn infants may be treated with antibiotics (drugs that fight infection) when we think that a serious infection may be the reason why they are sick, either at the time they are admitted to the NICU, or later during their time in the newborn ICU.

Blood Bank

We have acquired sophisticated Blood Banking equipment for our blood bank. We have highly qualified staff to run the Blood Bank. Our main emphasis is on encouraging the medical fraternity to use blood components instead of whole blood. By use of components, optimum utilization of blood can be obtained and 3 to 4 lives can be helped with
just one unit of blood. We encourage voluntary blood donation in and around Panipat to encourage the voluntary blood donation movement. As a result, high-quality blood, fully tested against all infections is available to people in life-threatening situations.

TMT

It is a cardiac stress test, measuring heart’s ability to sustain stress given by exercise in controlled environment. Mainly used to diagnose coronary artery disease or determine prognosis after Myocardial infarction (heart attack) or coronary revascularization (angioplasty or bypass surgery). After taking history and checking vitals, chest leads are applied and patient is explained that machine will gradually increase speed and slope every three minutes. For better application of electrodes, shaving may be preferable in chest. Test can be immediately stopped if patient feels so or having chest pain, breathlessness or fatigue. Doctor can also order stopping of test upon finding ECG changes. Most adults achieve target heart rate in 9 minutes.

Endoscopy

An endoscopy is a procedure in which your doctor uses specialized instruments to view and operate on the internal organs and vessels of your body. It allows surgeons to see problems within your body without making large incisions. A surgeon inserts an endoscope through a small cut or an opening in the body such as the mouth. An endoscope is a flexible tube with an attached camera that allows your doctor to see. Your doctor can use forceps and scissors on the endoscope to operate or remove tissue for biopsy. Endoscopy allows your doctor to visually examine an organ without having to make a large incision. A screen in the operating room lets the doctor see exactly what the endoscope sees.

Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is a procedure that lets your health care provider check the inside of your entire colon (large intestine). The procedure is done using a long, flexible tube called a colonoscope. The tube has a light and a tiny camera on one end. It is put in your rectum and moved into your colon. Colonoscopy can help your provider look for problems in your colon. These include any early signs of cancer, inflamed (red or swollen) tissue, ulcers (open sores) and bleeding. Colonoscopy is also used to screen for colon cancer and rectal cancer. Screening involves looking for cancer in individuals who do not have any symptoms of the disease. Your health care provider will fully explain the procedure and answer your questions.
